Why is that guy you barely remember from high school always in your News Feed? How did you miss your college roommate’s honeymoon photos? These are some of Facebook’s biggest mysteries. The question comes up often. From my conversations, it seems what we want to know about people has less to do with the it and more to do with how feel about them. I know I always want to know what my nephew had for breakfast, others not as much. Since the topic came up in almost every interview last week (and again this morning) I went back through my Link archive to find this analysis from Thomas Weber at the Daily Beast. These are only his findings, the truth of the algorithm is a tightly guarded supersecret. At least his strategy gives you a shot at getting more from your FB experience – and, if all else fails, there’s always the Hide button.
Algorithms rule the world & the feed
